BRICK LANE MARKET

Though the shops and restaurants on Brick Lane are open daily, the best day to visit Brick Lane is on Sundays, when the Brick Lane Market comes to life.

The market is situated in the London East End, once known for its slums and Jack the Ripper infamy. However, significant change has come in recent years with an immigration influx first from the Jewish and later the Bangladeshi communities, transforming it from its roots.

While visiting the Brick Lane Markets, visitors should be sure to take a stroll around Shoreditch. Previous immigration has made the area home to London’s delicious curry houses. The artistic, edgy crowd (with their various graffiti murals, art galleries and more) has also been attracted. Hence, you should check out some of the incredible street art for which the area is well known.

For those who haven’t gotten their market fix from Brick Lane alone, there’s the adjacent Old Spitalfields Market, or the Columbia Road Flower market just North of the area on Sundays.

Visitors can reach Brick Lane Market by getting off at Liverpool St. Station on the Underground via the Central Line, Circle Line, Hammersmith & City, or Metropolitan Lines. If you use the Overground, alight at the Shoreditch High Street Station.
